US-based Ghanaian coach cut sod for ultra-modern Sports Village
US-based Ghanaian Ex-footballer, Mr John Samuel Kwabena Asiedu, has cut sod for the construction of the Bright Future Sporting and Education Village at Komenda, Domenase in the Central Region.
The ultra-modern sporting complex which covers 30-acres of land will have mini parks, hotels, first class training facilities, gyms and schools which will be opened to the public.
Mr Aseidu, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bright Future Sporting and Education Village said “The talents in Ghana need the right nurturing to be on top.”
“Most of the football academies in Ghana are not up to the European level because they lack a lot with regard to infrastructure and logistics. With the exception of Red Bull and WAFA, the rest are below standard,” he said.
Mr Aseidu who doubles as the Director of Coaching at FC Golden States, San Diego in the United States said the village would be an avenue where young lads will reach unprecedented heights in education and sports.
He added that there will be exchange programmes between Bright Future and schools from the United States.
Speaking on the project’s benefits, Mr Aseidu said it will serve both local and foreign clubs with modern-day football administration.
“Clubs in Ghana and outside are eligible to use the center for their pre-season campaigns and also host international events. We are looking at having the first ultra-modern European standard football academy in Africa to produce world class footballers,” he added.
Having left the shores of Ghana in 1999, Johnson first landed in Netherlands before moving to Belgium where he played top-flight football before moving to the United States in 2007.
With over 25 years of Coaching, the US-certified trainer runs the FC Golden States for the past 12 years, having also worked with Right to Dream and New Life Academy in Ghana.
The event was graced by traditional leaders, ex-footballers, coaches and other top personalities from Ghana and the United States.

Work commences on Bright Future Village
Work has commenced on the construction of the Bright Future Sporting and Education Village following the sod-cutting ceremony held at Komenda-Domenase in the Central Region in March.
The ceremony was performed by the Chief of Domenase, Nana Kwao Beisi II and US-based Ghanaian Coach and Founder of the Village, Mr John Samuel Kwabena Asiedu.
The project is situated on a 30-acres of land which would have a multi-purpose complex of European standard facility which will ensure footballers and international clubs enjoy a serene atmosphere.
Cutting the sod, Nana Kwao Beisi II lauded the initiative and thanked the team for introducing the European system of sports and education to his community.
The project upon completion, he hoped, should bring massive development to the area, unearth and nurture talents in the area.
Mr Asiedu says his outfit was ready to work with individuals and corporate bodies that believe in the vision to blend sports and education.
According to him, long-term projects require enough funds and resources to complete and maintain the reason why the village has partners in Ghana, Europe and America who are committed to this cause.
He said “We’re building a community of sports and education with mini stadiums, staff bungalows, tennis courts, gyms, training pitches, hospital, dining hall, hostels, dormitories among others, where footballers will have the opportunity to utilize their talents and get formal education.
He said the construction of the facility will follow a five-year plan and phases, adding that the first phase could be completed by August and immediately followed by second phase.
Mr Asiedu expressed the hope that “Within five years, the village will take shape and would be opened to the public.
Dr Francis Ghunney, a Project Partner assured the community the project would be a success and urged them to embrace it as a symbol to promote unity.
